As Maryland’s leader in preventing child abuse, The Shepard Training Institute at The Family Tree provides technical assistance, skills-based learning and evidence-informed training opportunities to caregivers, professionals, nonprofits, community organizations and state agencies that build skills and knowledge about identifying child abuse, reporting child maltreatment, understanding child development and the impact of trauma on family systems.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of The Family Tree’s core professional development opportunities is the Understanding N.E.A.R. (neurobiology, epigenetics, ACEs, and resilience) Science, ACE Interface Master Train the Trainer event. This two-day professional development opportunity is designed to train highly skilled, well-informed Master Trainers and Presenters on the N.E.A.R. science and its impact on both individual health and community well-being.<\/p>\n
