Maryland ACE Interface Training Successes
Since 2017, in partnership with The Family Tree, we’ve had success across the state in bringing this critical information to members of the community across sectors and regions.
In 2017 The Family Tree..
in partnership with EFC, brought the ACE Interface Master Trainer Program led by Dr. Robert Anda and Lara Porter to Maryland. ACE Interface is aimed to disseminate ACE and resilience science in ways that empower individuals and communities to realize the potential of healing centered engagement.
Since 2017, 28,508 community members have been educated across all of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.

Become a Master Trainer
As Maryland’s leader in preventing child abuse, The Shepard Training Institute at The Family Tree provides technical assistance, skills-based learning and evidence-informed training opportunities to caregivers, professionals, nonprofits, community organizations and state agencies that build skills and knowledge about identifying child abuse, reporting child maltreatment, understanding child development and the impact of trauma on family systems.
One of The Family Tree’s core professional development opportunities is the Understanding N.E.A.R. (neurobiology, epigenetics, ACEs, and resilience) Science, ACE Interface Master Train the Trainer event. This two-day professional development opportunity is designed to train highly skilled, well-informed Master Trainers and Presenters on the N.E.A.R. science and its impact on both individual health and community well-being.
Currently, there are 300 ACE Interface Master Trainers & Presenters representing a variety of industry areas including the medical professions, lawyers, social workers, educators, law enforcement and nonprofit professionals.
